CSQ FUNDING

Construction Skills Queensland Funded Courses

If you are currently working in the Queensland building and construction industry and wish to develop your skills, you may be eligible for CSQ funding. Your Course may be subsidised by Construction Skills QLD, which means CSQ may pay a significant portion of your Student Fees.

To be Eligible for CSQ Funding, you will need to meet the below Eligibility Criteria, and must provide Evidence of eligibility at time of Enrolment.

With CSQ Funding you may also apply for Recognition of Prior Learning ( RPL ) for up to 50% of the Units of Competency required, which could reduce the duration of your Course.

Please note that Students will be required to contribute to the cost of their CSQ Funded Training.

PLEASE NOTE: Australian School of Finishing Trades may or may not have access to funding for any program at any point in time. Please contact ASFT for more information regarding Student Contribution Fees, and availability of funded Programs

ASFT currently has CSQ Funding available for the following Courses:

CERTIFICATE IV BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION

QLD BUILDER – LOWRISE SITE SUPERVISOR COURSE

CSQ Funding is provided by the QLD Construction Industry, which means that it is Industry Funding, to support training and upskilling QLD Construction Workers.

The Portable Long Service Leave Scheme is funded by a levy imposed on the total cost, whether direct or indirect, of building and construction work in Queensland costing $150,000 or more (excluding GST). The levy is paid in conjunction with the Building and Construction Work Health and Safety (Queensland) levy and the Construction Skills Queensland levy.

Requirements for CSQ Funded Programs
Eligibility for funding and maximum funding contribution

Students must meet ALL eligibility Criteria to obtain CSQ Funding for this Program.

For the purposes of eligibility under this Agreement, all Participants under this Program must be an Eligible Worker and meet the following criteria.
Eligible Worker means:
(a) Employed in Queensland within the Building & Construction Industry (including relevant clerical, administration & professional staff whose employer is part of the building and construction industry).
(b) Self Employed (in Queensland within the Building & Construction Industry )
(c) Permanently work in Queensland
Eligible Participant means:
An eligible participant for this program MUST BE:
 an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or a Permanent Resident, or
 a participant on a valid Visa prescribed by CSQ, who has been employed in the
Queensland Building and Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more, and is
an eligible worker in Queensland, or
 is an unemployed eligible worker who has been unemployed for a period not greater than 6 months, in Queensland.


AND MUST NOT BE:
 an apprentice or trainee,
 undertaking the training as part of an Apprenticeship or Traineeship,
 an employee of an Authority,
 currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program,
 a contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO,
 funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same training being
undertaken as part of this program,
 be enrolled in more than (1) skills set or qualification at any time under this program including (Building and Civil and Major Contractors) and the Skills Assessment and Gap Training Program (SAGT)
 previously enrolled into the same or equivalent qualification in an earlier program term.
 a participant seeking a verification of competency.
